A lot of agricultural products are sold, particularly for human consumption. Quality assurance is crucial for these products. Agmark, which is a certification mark by the Government of India that certifies all agricultural products, is used to ensure consumers are aware of their quality and standard.

What is AGMARK?
“AGMARK” certification is a quality benchmark and can be used to verify the authenticity of products. Agmark is governed under the Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marking) Act of 1937 (as amended by 1986). Agmark Standards currently cover about 222 agricultural products, including pulses, cereals, vegetable oils, and other semi-processed items. The Agmark certification is voluntary for most agricultural items, except where it is required by the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restriction on Sales), Regulations 2011.
